Lowering Prescription Drug Costs To Advance Health Equity: A Conversation With HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra

Registration to attend in-person is now closed. If you would like to register to attend online, click here.

The Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 brought historic reforms to the Medicare program—including capping the cost of insulin, enabling the program to negotiate the prices for certain prescription drugs, and capping enrollees’ total out-of-pocket prescription drug costs for the first time.

These reforms have the potential to close important affordability gaps, including for Medicare enrollees of color.

Join the Center for American Progress on April 11, 2024, for a conversation between Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra and CAP President and CEO Patrick Gaspard on how the Inflation Reduction Act’s Medicare prescription drug reforms will reduce health disparities by improving affordability and to learn more about how enrollees are already benefiting from these important provisions.

Light refreshments will be provided.

Please note: Identification will be checked upon arrival at the Center for American Progress. Failure to provide an ID may result in denial of entry to the event. This invite is non-transferable.
