Managing U.S.-China Technology Competition in an Era of Rising Tensions

Technology competition, driven by national security and economic considerations, is now central to the U.S.-China relationship and a key reason for growing tensions between the two countries. CAP Senior Fellow Dave Rank will moderate a conversation with CAP Vice President for Technology Policy Adam Conner and Center for a New American Security Senior Fellow and Director of the Energy, Economics, and Security Program Emily Kilcrease on how Washington can best advance U.S. technological leadership and defend U.S. national security interests without undermining the vitality of the U.S. economy. How do decision-makers thread that policy needle in a political environment that increasingly sees issues related to China in stark black and white?
